Use WordPress content structures so category pages populate automatically

Goal
You should be able to demonstrate the result described in the lesson and explain why each step was necessary.

Step-by-step

01

Create the category

Use Posts → Categories and give the topic a clear name and slug.

02

Write a post

Use Posts → Add New for each tutorial lesson instead of putting all lessons into one giant category page.

03

Assign the category

Check the appropriate category so WordPress can include the post in that archive.

04

Write an excerpt

A good excerpt becomes the summary shown on cards and search results.

05

Add a featured image

Use a consistent aspect ratio so grids look deliberate on desktop and mobile.

Verify before moving on
You should be able to demonstrate the result described in the lesson and explain why each step was necessary.

Troubleshooting

If a command or screen differs from the lesson, stop and verify the version you are using before forcing a change.

What you learned

You now understand the purpose of this part of the system and have a concrete result you can verify before continuing to the next lesson.
